One of only two nationally accredited early learning centers in the Rio Grande Valley

Edutainment announced today that it has earned accreditation by Cognia™, a global nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers worldwide. This distinction makes Edutainment one of only two nationally accredited early learning centers in the Rio Grande Valley, serving families across Mission, McAllen, Rio Grande City, and Roma.
Cognia, formerly AdvancED, recognizes institutions that meet rigorous standards focused on learning environments, equitable resources, and effective leadership. As a Reggio-inspired, bilingual private preschool, The Edutainment Zone offers accredited early education for children ages 3–5, along with infant and toddler care for our youngest learners. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means that The Edutainment Zone is recognized internationally as a program that meets Cognia's Standards of Quality and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.
"We pursued Cognia accreditation because we believe the earliest years of a child's life deserve the same rigor, intention, and accountability as any stage of education," said Oxmara Barrera, of Edutainment. "Opening our program to an independent team of evaluators reflects our commitment to families: that your child will be respected, known, and truly cared for here."
To earn Cognia accreditation, a program must implement a continuous process of improvement and submit to both internal and external review by an independent team measuring it against established international standards. Evaluators return on a regular basis to confirm the program continues to meet them.
For families in Mission, McAllen, Rio Grande City, and Roma searching for an accredited private preschool, or quality infant and toddler care, this national recognition offers confidence that The Edutainment Zone has been measured against the highest standards in early childhood education.
